I have always wanted to further my education, but didn’t have the resources to do so. When the chance arose for me to go back to school, I was more than happy to take advantage of the opportunity. I have always wanted to work in the field of criminology, so I immediately began researching the different choices and job descriptions in that particular genre.
The first thing I found in that general field, was on information assurance training. I had never heard of this before, so I did some more extensive searching. The more I learned on the subject, the more interesting this line of work seemed to me.
The more searching I did on the subject, the more intrigued I became. I had no idea how many different aspects and career choices that there were in this field. I was definitely on the right track and was excited to learn more about it.
My research led me to a criminology degree program that my local state college was offering. This course sounded perfect for me. It seemed to cover everything I was interested in learning, and it offered a degree, too. The class schedule was convenient for my own work schedule, making it ideal as well.
After completing the criminology program, if I am still satisfied with my career choice, I will be able to further my education if I want to. Anytime you add to an existing education you will be allowing yourself more chances for advancement in your present job as well as income opportunities.
Criminology is a complex study. If you would like to make a career for yourself in this field, a degree is not a choice, it’s a necessity. After I completed the program and received my degree, I decided to continue it even further and enrolled myself into the criminology masters programs. Once I have completed and have my masters degree, my career opportunities will be limitless.
If you are serious about getting your degree in criminology, I suggest you don’t waste anytime. This is a high in demand career choice and the classes fill up very quickly. If you are interested and are finding it difficult to find classes in your area, you may want to check the internet, not only can you find educational institutes in your area that are offering the course, you may be able to find an online course. Many people are taking advantage of online courses, they find them to be more convenient than a traditional school schedule.
