These days it seems like everyone has something to lose. Too many people are losing their jobs because of the recession and then there are all of the people that are losing their homes to make matters worse. You know I have always heard that there is only one thing that can never be taken away from you and that’s an education. One thing’s for sure, you can never have too much education. Well then again, I have heard of people being over qualified for this job or that job but still, if you’re stuck in a dead end job, education is the way to go.
I have always heard that you can’t go wrong with some sort of medical degree. Personally I have always been interested in psychology. It’s fascinating to learn about the different things that make people tick. That’s one of the things I would definitely consider getting, my masters in psychology. With all of the online colleges there are today, it’s not hard at all to find one that will fit your needs be it the curriculum or price. Best of all, you can get a great education right from the comforts of your home. A good friend of mine went from an rn to msn and I am so very proud of her.
If you ask me, there’s no excuse what so ever now to not seek a higher education. I know so many people that are stuck in a dead end job with low wages and yet they do have a computer. Well darn, a computer can be for a whole lot more than just looking up friends on one of the social sites or sticking your nose in someone else’s business on a social site. It could mean the difference between a dead end job and a job you really enjoy and feel that you are contributing to not only your own family, but possibly helping others too. I don’t know about you but if you ask me, that sounds like a win-win situation.
Maybe you are one of those people that just never quite found the time to finish up the degree you started fresh out of high school because you decided a family was more important than an education. Well unfortunately, an education can be the difference between a happy family and a struggling family. I like the sounds of a happy family much more. Even if your children are grown and have moved out doing their own thing, go back to school and earn a degree in something you have always been curious about. You don’t have to have an empty nest; you can fill it now with interests of your own.
